COVID-19 Booster Clinic Dec. 14-16

Fully vaccinated but haven’t received your booster yet? The Medical Center will hold a free COVID-19 booster clinic at the Cultural Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 14, 15, & 16. Booster doses will be available to individuals who are fully vaccinated, and no appointment is necessary.

According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), people are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are not fully vaccinated. Keep taking all precautions until you are fully vaccinated.

If you have a weakened immune system or are currently on medication, even if you have been fully vaccinated and received a booster dose, you may not be fully protected against the virus. In such cases, it is recommended that you continue to take all necessary precautions, as advised by your healthcare provider, to protect yourself from the virus. If you experience any symptoms, be sure to contact your healthcare provider or visit an urgent care facility like urgent care Brainridge for further evaluation and treatment.

The Medical Center will be providing Pfizer boosters to anyone at Ocean Reef who is at least 18 years of age and eligible for a booster as outlined above. Anyone who received their initial vaccinations at the Medical Center received the Pfizer vaccine. The CDC recommends that if you received the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson vaccines, you may receive a booster of either Pfizer or Moderna. Moderna boosters contain a half-dose of the original-strength vaccine.
