The 2025-2026 Viral Season
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all U.S. flu vaccines for the 2025-2026 season are anticipated to be trivalent — formulated to protect against three influenza viruses, an A(H1N1) virus, an A(H3N2) virus, and a B/Victoria virus. More information about these vaccines can be found on the CDC website.
Influenza season generally peaks around January-February. It takes approximately two weeks after vaccination for your immune system to build up sufficient antibodies to protect against the flu. The protection offered by the vaccine is expected to last for the entire flu season, but immunity can wane over time. Remember to be vigilant about washing your hands, and if you suspect you’re becoming ill, stay home to avoid infecting others.
