Cardiology Services at the Medical Center

We are pleased to announce the addition of Cardiologist Benjamin Hurwitz, M.D., to our Visiting Specialists program. He is a Board-certified physician with Cardiovascular Wellness Center located in Homestead, Florida, and a Baptist Health-affiliated physician. He attended The Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, and received his advanced training in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.
Dr. Hurwitz diagnoses and treats various heart-related health conditions including arrhythmia, high blood pressure and heart disease. He also serves as the Chief of Medicine at Homestead Hospital and serves on the hospital’s Medical Staff Quality Committee. Outside of work, Dr. Hurwitz is active in the cardiology community, contributing regularly to scientific publications and speaking at conferences and industry events. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American College of Physicians.
The Medical Center’s team of visiting cardiology specialists also includes two additional physicians — Julio Barcena, M.D., who also is affiliated with Baptist Health; and Howard Bush, M.D., who is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic.
