Physical Therapy is Growing
The Medical Center’s Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Department is pleased to introduce Adriana Gonzalez. She joins seasoned co-workers Miguel Gonzalez, PTA, Department Supervisor (no relation to Adriana); and Meagan Starnes, DPT.
Adriana earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Florida International University. Some of her previous hands-on training was performed at Baptist Hospital acute care, where she evaluated and treated patients in the acute care phase of recovery in the pulmonary, neurology and orthopedic surgery units of the hospital. Prior to this, she completed her studies and training at AdventHealth Hospital in Orlando and Physicians Health Center in Miami.
She also volunteered and interned at Nicklaus Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Miami where she assisted physical, occupational and speech therapists in performing their daily tasks.
The Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Department treats a wide range of conditions, including pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal injuries, chronic conditions and vestibular rehabilitation. Getting started is an easy process; first a visit to your primary or orthopedic physician for initial diagnosis, then a consultation with one of our physical therapists who will prescribe a recommended course of treatment.
