The Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Heberto Ramon Valdes to our Visiting Specialists program. Dr. Valdes is a board-certified physician with Baptist Health South Florida. In addition to his work treating patients, Dr. Valdes is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine.
Dr. Valdes’ patient care philosophy is always to prioritize the needs of the patient. This patient-first philosophy has allowed him to provide compassionate care without compromising treatment excellence. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He received his college education at the University of Miami and his medical education at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York.
Dr. Valdes specializes in endocrine and metabolism disorders including adrenal disease, diabetes, hypogonadism, osteoporosis, pituitary disease, and thyroid and parathyroid disease.
Endocrinology is the study of hormones. Hormones are chemical messengers that travel from one cell to another in our bodies via our bloodstream, controlling our temperature, sleep, mood, stress, growth and more. In doing so, they allow different parts of our bodies to communicate with each other. Hormones are secreted by endocrine glands such as the pituitary, thyroid and adrenal glands.
Dr. Valdes’ next visit to the Medical Center is Friday, Jan. 5, 2021. You can make an appointment with Dr. Valdes online or by calling 305-367-6702.
