Endocrinology is the study of hormones. Hormones are chemical messengers that travel from one cell to another in our bodies via our bloodstream, controlling our temperature, sleep, mood, stress, growth and more. In doing so, they allow different parts of our bodies to communicate with each other. Hormones are secreted by endocrine glands such as the pituitary, thyroid and adrenal glands.
Dr. Valdes’ next visit to the Medical Center is Friday, Jan. 5, 2021. You can make an appointment with Dr. Valdes online or by calling 305-367-6702.
