Employee of the Quarter: Rayza Gonzalez

Meet Rayza Gonzalez, Medical Assistant for Private Medicine physician Carlos Smith, M.D. Rayza has been named Employee of the First Quarter 2026.

Q: How long have you been working as a Medical Assistant?
A: I have had the privilege of working as a Medical Assistant for 20 years, a profession that has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

Q: How long have you been working at The Medical Center at Ocean Reef (MCOR)?
A: I have been a part of MCOR for the past six years, during which I have grown within a supportive and committed work environment.

Q: Tell us about your current education plan.
A: I am currently enrolled in an RN program and expect to complete it in approximately 1.5 years. I am passionate about patient care and very motivated to continue my education. I strive to provide the best possible care to my patients and make a positive impact in every patient encounter.

Q: Why do you choose to work at the Medical Center?
A: What motivates me to continue working at MCOR is the supportive team environment and the opportunity for professional growth. Above all, it is my patients who inspire me every day. It brings me great fulfillment to provide compassionate care, ensuring they feel heard and supported. Over time, many of them have become like family, which gives my work a deeper meaning. I feel truly grateful to serve and contribute to the well-being of such a special community as Ocean Reef.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors — especially going to the beach, which helps me recharge and maintain balance in my life.
