Introducing Dr. Christopher Reeder, our Newest Visiting Specialist

Dr. Christopher Reeder

The Medical Center is pleased to announce that Dr. Christopher Reeder, D.O., F.A.C.O.S., will be seeing patients at the Medical Center as a visiting specialist. He will be available to see patients beginning Jan. 3 for dermatologic/plastic surgery along with cosmetic fillers and Botox treatments. You can make an appointment on his Visiting Specialist page.

Dr. Reeder graduated from medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his General Surgery training at Flushing Hospital and Peninsula Hospitals in New York City. He completed a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency in Iowa and has been in practice in the Dayton-Cincinnati area for 29 years. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine and Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Reeder remains active at a national level, serving on the Board of Governors and as Secretary/Treasurer of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. Previously he spent 10 years on the Board of Directors of the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and as Chairman of the Bureau of Examiners overseeing the examination process leading to board certification in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Reeder recently retired as the Owner and CEO of a 15-office dermatology/plastic surgery practice in Ohio. He has been involved as a Director (Ohio Senate Appointee) on the Board of the BRIGHT New Leaders for Ohio Schools program, working with the Ohio State Fischer College of Business, training fellows involved in improving the education systems in Ohio’s disadvantaged school districts. He has also been involved in the Global Speakers Bureau for the manufacturing firm Smith-Nephew and served on the Advisory Board for Castle Biosciences, a company that uses genomic information to enable more accurate treatment of dermatological cancers.

Dr. Reeder belongs to many professional societies including The American Society of Plastic Surgeons who provide advice to experts, American College of Surgeons, Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons, Ohio State Medical Society, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association.

The Reeder family have been equity members at Ocean Reef for 21 years. Dr. Reeder presently serves on the Ocean Reef Advisory Committee. The Reeders are looking forward to spending more time at the Reef as empty nesters.
