Medical Center Names New Chief Operating Officer

Outgoing COO Jose Romano (left) turns over the “Medical Center Key” to new COO Christopher Grant

Please join us in welcoming Christopher Grant to the Medical Center’s leadership team.

Grant, former Director of Physician Practice Operations for Baptist Health Medical Group joined the Medical Center team as Chief Operating Officer on Monday, Aug. 5. He was simultaneously promoted to Assistant Vice President at Baptist Health.

Grant has been a valued employee of Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) for the past six years, providing operational and strategic alignment for their physician practices. He was educated at the University of Miami and MIT, having achieved his MBA in Health Sector Management and Policy.

As Grant moves into his new position, we say goodbye to former COO Jose Romano, who has returned to BHSF.

Romano was instrumental in securing additional visiting specialists in the fields of gastroenterology, physiatry, general surgery, plastic surgery, endocrinology, and others. His professionalism and knowledge in strategic planning greatly contributed to the successful day-to-day operations of the Center. We will miss his cheerful and positive presence and wish him the very best as he returns to take on new roles at BHSF.
