Lecture Series: “Heart Talk” Gets 2019 Series Beating

Baptist Health South Florida and the Ocean Reef Medical Center Foundation are pleased to present “Heart Talk,” the first installment in this season’s Medical Center Lecture Series, with Drs. Mario Pascual and Allan Stewart. The lecture will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, in the Cultural Center Theater.

Mario Pascual, M.D., is Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute’s Electrophysiology Medical Director. Electrophysiologists specialize in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders or arrhythmias. Dr. Pascual has conducted several clinical research studies to improve the efficiency of treatments including cardiac resynchronization therapies.

Allan Stewart, M.D., is the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute’s Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Baptist Health South Florida. Previously he specialized in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Columbia Hospital and the New York Presbyterian Hospital. Following his fellowship, Dr. Stewart completed an advanced fellowship in LVAD/Heart Transplant at Columbia University. He has operated and lectured in more than 23 countries on six continents. He has been honored in Castle Connelly’s Best Doctors in America and has placed on New York Magazine’s Best Thoracic Surgeons list for the past 10 consecutive years.
